| Name | Serpentshrine Cavern: Leotheras the Blind Guide |
| Category | Raid |
After killing The Lurker Below (or passing him), proceed to the north part of the platforms. You will see here the console linked to killing The Lurker Below, and a bridge going to the other 3 bosses in Serpentshrine Cavern. There are more trash mobs here and the bridge splits to the left and right, each leading to a different boss' room. This guide will take the left path and go to Leotheras the Blind first, and proceed clockwise to Fathom-Lord Karathress then Morogrim Tidewalker.
Trash mob information
Coilfang Serpentguard - Melee naga mob. They hit moderately hard and can cleave. Also, they have a Corrupt Devotion Aura which reduces armor by 25%. Occasionally they will put up a Spell Reflect so casters should be aware of this. Cannot be crowd controlled. Comes in pairs.
Greyheart Tidecaller - Broken shaman mob. Can attack with Frostbrand attacks which hits for around 2k damage and occasionally casts a Poison Shield that works similar to Lightning Shield. This shield has a chance to apply Virulent Poison to anyone hitting him, which deals 4000 nature damage per tick of the poison. The Poison Shield can be removed / dispelled or spellstolen, and the Virulent Poison can be depoisoned. Also, they can cast a Water Elemental Totem which summons a Water Elemental. The elemental can be very dangerous for the raid, so it needs to be banished immediately. Alternatively, the totem can be destroyed much easier and this will despawn the Water Elemental. Can be crowd controlled.
Greyheart Skulker - Broken rogue mob. Has a kick ability similar to rogues. Can be crowd controlled except for traps.
Greyheart Nether-Mage - Broken mage mob. Has 3 different self-buffs that increases its spell damage depending on the element. Mages can spellsteal these to gain around 350 spell damage increase depending on the element buff. The 3 self-buffs are Arcane Destruction, Frost Destruction and Fire Destruction. Also can cast several AoE spells like Arcane Volley, Rain of Fire, and some single target spells too like Frostbolt, Fireball. Its dangerous AoE spell is the Arcane Lightning spell which acts like chain lightning, and silences those people hit by this lightning for a few seconds. Can and should be crowd controlled. Usually comes in pairs.
Coilfang Fathom-Witch - Caster naga mob. Occasionally uses Shadow Bolt which hits for around 3k shadow damage. Also has Shadow Nova which hits for around the same shadow damage but also knocks back anyone hit by it. If you are not careful, you might get knocked back and fall into the water, so better face your back to a wall while tanking her. Also casts Domination to a raid member with second aggro which mind controls him / her for a few seconds. Cannot be crowd controlled. Comes in pairs.
Serpentshrine Lurker - Bog elemental mob. Occasionally casts Poison Bolt Volley which initially hits for around 2k nature damage, and leaves a DoT which ticks for around 500 nature damage per tick. Also leaves Rancid Mushrooms behind on the raid which functions like The Underbog's first boss ability. These mushrooms explode after several seconds, which leaves a gas cloud around that applies a stackable Spore Cloud debuff on anyone inside the gas cloud. This Spore Cloud debuff inflicts around 1k nature damage per tick. The effect stacks so if you stayed on a Spore Cloud for too long you might get it stacked to 5 and basically letting it tick for around 5k. Can and should always be banished.
Greyheart Shield-Bearer - Broken paladin mob. Frequently does Avenger's Shield on several people which hits for around 3k holy damage and dazes them. Also occasionally does Shield Charge to a random person within range which hits for around 2.2k damage. They tend to become dangerous for anyone if they got hit by Avenger's Shield and got Shield Charged immediately, which can lead to a 2-3hit combo from these mobs thus leading to instant death. Can be crowd controlled.
Underbog Colossus - These are large bog lord-type mobs which comes in single pulls. These mobs are fairly similar to the Anubisath Sentinels in Ahn'Qiraj, in which they have a random main ability, weakness, and death ability every time.
Underbog Colossus' Random Abilities
Main Ability 1: Rampant Infection and Spore Quake - Occasionally, the Underbog Colossus does a Spore Quake ability which deals 1291-1499 nature damage per tick to anyone within 30 yard range. This generally hurts especially to the melee people, since they can't get out of it immediately without taking several ticks in. It also has a knockdown effect so melee people should be careful. In addition, the Underbog Colossus will cast a Rampant Infection on a random person. This disease acts like Prayer of Mending, which jumps from one person to another every after 1.5 seconds. It deals nature damage every time it jumps, and the damage stacks every time it jumps. If people can be fast enough, they can cure disease the person before it can jump to another person.
Main Ability 2: Acid Geyser and Serpentshrine Parasite - Occasionally, the Underbog colossus will shoot sprays of acid to a random person. This will make the Underbog Colossus face the random person, and anyone within a frontal cone range of the Colossus will be affected. If this happens, just have the targeted person move out off the raid so they won't be affected by the Acid Geyser. In addition to the Acid Geyser, the Underbog Colossus summons a 1 hp parasite to a random person in the raid. This parasite will crawl out and attempt to enter its target. If the person gets the parasite, s/he will get a debuff which deals 2000 nature damage every 2 seconds for 10 seconds. Once the effect wears off, or the person dies from the damage, the parasite will move out and attempt to infect a new person. Also, if the person died from the parasite, it will spawn several more parasites. Just heal the person who has the parasite, and kill the parasite when it’s out.
Main Ability 3: Frenzy and Atrophic Blow - This is the easiest of the Underbog Colossus' abilities, and it can just be easily dispelled by a Tranquilizing Shot from a hunter, or just healed through by the healers. The Atrophic Blow ability of the Underbog Colossus deals 1313-2187 nature damage to the tank, and applies a stackable debuff which reduces strength and stamina by 30 per stack. The debuff can stack up to 30, and lasts for 20 seconds.
Death Ability 1: Toxic Pool - As soon as the Underbog Colossus dies, a green pool will appear under the Underbog Colossus. Anyone standing on it will receive 2138-2362 nature damage per second. This ability is pretty much deadly for the melee people. Just run out immediately from it.
Death Ability 2: Colossus Lurker spawn - As soon as the Underbog Colossus dies, 2-3 Colossus Lurkers will spawn. Just have the tanks catch them and kill them one at a time. They have around 140k health.
Death Ability 3: Colossus Rager spawn - As soon as the Underbog Colossus dies, several Colossus Ragers will spawn. Just have the tanks gather them up, then AoE them all. They only have around 34k health.
Death Ability 4: Refreshing Mist - As soon as the Underbog Colossus dies, several blue mushrooms will appear under the Underbog Colossus which lasts for 20 seconds. Anyone standing within the mushrooms will receive a beneficial buff called Refreshing Mist which regenerates their health and mana. You can get multiple Refreshing Mist buffs on you since every mushroom emits this mist.
Death Ability 5: Nothing - When the Underbog Colossus dies, it just dies and won't trigger any death ability.
**These mobs respawn after 2 hours. Linked to Leotheras the Blind, so killing him will stop the respawns.
From The Lurker Below's console, you will see the first pack of trash mobs, consisting of 2 Coilfang Serpentguard, 2 Greyheart Nether-Mage, 1 Greyheart Tidecaller and 1 Greyheart Skulker. Before pulling, make sure the Underbog Colossus on each side is far away so you don't accidentally pull them too. As soon as the pack is pulled, crowd control the 2 Greyheart Nether-Mages immediately. Tank the other mobs, focusing on the Greyheart Tidecaller first to get rid of poisons and Water Elementals as well.
Remember to banish the Water Elementals if the Greyheart Tidecaller summoned one, or just kill the totem immediately (the totem only has around 5k health). Also the Virulent Poison needs to be removed immediately if anyone gets afflicted, or that person will die after a few ticks of it. After the Greyheart Tidecaller dies, move on to the Greyheart Skulker, then to the 2 Coilfang Serpentguards. The Greyheart Nether-Mages should be the last ones to be killed since their abilities are very dangerous for the raid (AoE, Arcane Lightning silence, etc).
Once the first pack is dead, grab the Underbog Colossus patrolling on the left path. Bring it back near the console so you don't accidentally pull the other Underbog Colossus. After killing this colossus, you can kill the other patrolling colossus for safety, but take note that this colossus is not linked with Leotheras the Blind so it will respawn later after 2 hours. Along the left path, you will soon encounter another pack similar to the first one you have pulled. Do the same thing with this pack, then move down to their platform.
The next pack consists of 2 Coilfang Serpentguards and 2 Coilfang Fathom-Witches. All of them cannot be crowd controlled, so they will need to be tanked. Bring the Coilfang Serpentguards away from the other 2 mobs, and tank the Coilfang Fathom-Witches by a wall so the tank won't get knocked back into the water. Focus fire on the Coilfang Fathom-Witches first to eliminate AoE effects and mind controls, then proceed to the Coilfang Serpentguards once both of the Coilfang Fathom-Witches are killed. Proceed further after killing that Fathom-Witch pack.
The next pack you'll encounter consists of 3 Greyheart mobs, with 2 Greyheart Nether-Mages and 1 Greyheart Tidecaller, or 2 Greyheart Tidecallers and 1 Greyheart Nether-Mage. Regardless of the mob composition, just crowd control 2 of them, with priority on Greyheart Nether-Mages, and focus on the non-crowd controlled Tidecaller. Kill Greyheart Tidecallers first, then Greyheart Nether-Mages last.
After this pack, there are 4 mobs lurking behind the large pillar in the center. This pack consists of Greyheart mobs, so do the necessary crowd control priorities as soon as it is pulled (Greyheart Nether-Mage > Greyheart Tidecaller > Greyheart Skulker). Like the previous packs, focus on Greyheart Tidecallers first, then Greyheart Skulkers, then finally Greyheart Nether-Mages if there are any.
After this pack is killed, you will see 2 separate packs on opposite sides of the room. The pack at the left side has 6 mobs, while the right side has 5. Let’s focus on the easier one first, so grab the right side pack. This pack consists of Greyhearts as well, plus a new mob called Serpentshrine Lurker. This bog mob is very dangerous, as it spawns Rancid Mushrooms on the raid, which explodes after several seconds and will leave behind a spore cloud that applies a nasty stackable DoT on anyone caught in the cloud. Just move away when you see a mushroom sprouting beside you.
As soon as this pack is pulled, have one of your warlocks banish the Serpentshrine Lurker as soon as possible, and make sure it is permanently banished until it is about to be killed. Kill the Greyheart mobs first before moving to the Serpentshrine Lurker. After killing this pack, you will now have more room to work on, so have the raid move to their previous location and get ready to pull the pack on the other side. This pack is similar to that mob pack that you just killed, but has an additional Greyheart mob called Greyheart Shield-Bearer.
This mob has an Avenger's Shield volley ability which deals around 3k holy damage, plus it dazes. It also can charge a random person within its range, which makes it a deadly mob if it manages to connect an Avenger's Shield - Shield Charge - normal hit combo on anyone, killing that person instantly. Sheep this mob too with the same priority as a Greyheart Nether-Mage when the pack is finally pulled. Don't forget to banish the Serpentshrine Lurker as soon as possible. Focus on the Greyheart Tidecallers first like the previous ones, then Greyheart Skulker, then Greyheart Shield-Bearer, and finally the Greyheart Nether-Mage.
When they are all down, proceed to killing the Serpentshrine Lurker. Only 2 pulls left before you can attempt on Leotheras the Blind. The next pack on the tents by the center is similar to that last pack you just killed (4 kinds of Greyheart mobs), minus the Serpentshrine Lurker. Just crowd control the necessary mobs, and tank the rest. Remember the focus priority on the Greyhearts from the previous packs. After killing this pack, the patrol is the only one that's left.
The patrolling pack is beyond Leotheras the Blind, but you will be needing much room for him anyway so you will need to kill this patrol. This patrol is very deadly, since it consists of 3 Greyheart Shield-Bearers and 2 Greyheart Nether-Mages, the worst combination so far. To get this pull, have the raid stay below the ramp with one tank staying with them, then have the tanks and sheepers stay by the tents just above the ramp (where the previous pack was staying) away from the rest of the raid.
Get a hunter to misdirect-pull a Greyheart Shield-Bearer from the patrol to the tank staying by the raid, and make sure to go along the right side to avoid pulling the Greyheart Spellbinders by Leotheras the Blind's side. Once the mobs are on their way to the misdirected tank, the mages should sheep the incoming Greyheart Nether-Mages (and a Greyheart Shield-Bearer if there are enough mages) immediately, then return to the raid.
To ensure that the targets are actually sheeped, paladins can throw a Blessing of Protection on each of the sheeping mages so they would survive the Avenger's Shield from any of the incoming Greyheart Shield-Bearers. The other tanks with the mages should grab their tank targets (the other Greyheart Shield-Bearers) as soon as they are within range, and tank them far away from the raid to prevent additional Avenger's Shield / Shield Charge on the raid. The healers for these tanks should stay by their side so they won't be Shield Charged (they don't have cleave anyway).
Kill the Greyheart Shield-Bearer that's being tanked within the raid. After killing it, call down the next tank with another Greyheart Shield-Bearer to the raid and kill it. Move to killing the last Greyheart Shield-Bearer after killing the second one, then kill the Greyheart Nether-Mages one by one. Finally, the trash mobs are cleared. Rebuff, eat / drink, and get ready for the boss fight.
Leotheras the Blind
He is a blood elf demon hunter and one of the 3 final bosses before Lady Vashj in Serpentshrine Cavern. This boss has 2 alternating phases, and a final phase once his health reaches 15%. He will also enrage 10 minutes upon engage, generally wiping the whole raid. Leotheras also holds the tier5 glove tokens.
Raid Composition
1 Main Tank
2 Offtanks with DPS gear on (for tanking the Greyheart Spellbinders)
1 Warlock tank with high Fire Resist (250+), also should be Soul Link specced (click here for the recommended spec)
7-8 healers
Remaining slots for DPS (more ranged DPS preferred)
Key Abilities
Blood Elf Form
Whirlwind - Leotheras' main ability while in blood elf form, which is pretty similar to Battleguard Sartura's ability in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Leotheras will do a whirlwind animation while targeting random people every few seconds. Targeting people will make him move to that targeted person while whirlwinding, and since he targets a different person every few seconds, this will make him like randomly moving all around the room while whirlwinding. The whirlwind deals around 3k damage to anyone hit by it, mitigated by armor. Also, if you got hit by whirlwind, a nasty bleed DoT will be applied to you, dealing 2500 bleed damage per tick for 15 seconds. Leotheras the Blind will be doing whirlwinds every 15 seconds for 15 seconds, and resets aggro once the whirlwind stops.
Demon Form
Chaos Blast - Leotheras' main attack-ability while in demon form. Leotheras will spam this ability on his current highest aggro target. This ability blasts the target and the area around the target for a small amount of fire damage. However, the blast applies a stacking dot on whoever gets hit by it which increases fire damage taken by 1675 per stack. The debuff lasts for 45 seconds and can stack up to 20. Due to the nature of this ability, a ranged class with a very high fire resistance should be tanking Leotheras in his demon form. A warlock is much suitable for this, due to having high amounts of health, having Soul Link to split the damage to his pet, and can manage to maintain aggro.
Insidious Whisper - Leotheras' secondary ability while in demon form. He only does this 25-30 seconds from the start of the demon phase. This undispellable debuff will be applied on up to 5 random people in the raid, and lasts for 30 seconds. As soon as the debuff is applied, an Inner Demon will spawn beside you. This inner demon will start to attack you and only yourself can kill it. Other people will see them as green (friendly NPC) so no one will be able to help you with it other than yourself. You will need to kill this demon within the 30 second duration of the Insidious Whisper debuff. If the debuff runs out and the demon is still alive, you will be Mind Controlled for 10 minutes and there is no other way to remove it except by dying (let yourself be killed by other raid members). Inner Demons have around 10k health and can hit for around 1k melee damage, and can cast a 3.5k damage shadow bolt. They are very vulnerable to holy, nature, and arcane spells (65% more damage) but receive less damage from shadow and fire spells (20% less damage).
Fire Resist Gear List
Here are the possible fire resist gear for the warlock tank for Leotheras the Blind's Demon Form. You need around 250+ fire resist unbuffed, but the more the better. Just don't gimp your other stats too much. Other parts can be PvP gear to obtain as much stamina as possible.

Positioning
Depending on the group composition, there should be 1 group consisting of only melee DPS. Let’s assume this group is group 5. This group should be 'floating', meaning they should be dispersing to any group with a healer when Leotheras does his Whirlwind. Groups 1-4 should be well spread out in the whole room. One group can be assigned to Leotheras' platform (warlock tank's group recommended here), another just at the beginning of the small hallway behind Leotheras (where the last patrol pack was pulled), another below the ramp, and another by the tents above the ramp. Each of the 4 groups should have 1-2 healers so they can heal their own group and anyone within their range, especially melee people who got hit by whirlwind while running away.
Pulling
Once everyone is ready, the warlock tank has been soulstoned and groups know where they should go for their positions, the main tank as well as 2 offtanks in DPS gear (DPS warriors offtanking should put on a shield for a while) should move in and grab one of each Greyheart Spellbinder. Everyone else should move in to their respective positions, then proceed to killing the 3 adds. The warlock tank should have his Felhound up for additional resistance, and he should let it stay on a safe corner where healers can reach it. The Greyheart Spellbinders do a Mind Blast with an AoE effect which deals around 3k shadow damage to random players within range. These 3 spellbinders should all be separated to prevent Mind Blast bursts to a single player, which can eventually lead to one-shotting that player if all 3 spellbinders' blast hit the player simultaneously. Kill the Greyheart Spellbinder that is being tanked by the main tank first, so he'll be freed from tanking and he can start gathering rage for when Leotheras breaks free. Kill one Greyheart Spellbinder at a time, and when all 3 spellbinders die, Leotheras the Blind will finally break free from banishment and will start aggroing.
Phase 1 - Blood Elf Phase
As soon as Leotheras the Blind breaks free, phase 1 starts. During this phase, he will be in blood elf form, so the main tank should be grabbing him and tanking him for the whole phase 1. The whole of blood elf phase lasts for around 45 seconds, then Leotheras will transform into his demon form and start phase 2. Around 15 seconds after breaking free, Leotheras the Blind will start doing Whirlwind.
Every 5 seconds before his Whirlwind cooldown timer goes off, all melee DPS except the main tank should start to MOVE AWAY FROM LEOTHERAS THE BLIND immediately to avoid getting hit by his Whirlwind. This means melee DPS has around 10 seconds to DPS Leotheras the Blind while his Whirlwind cooldown timer is still running. When he finally does his Whirlwind, everyone should be alert and move away when you see him going to your location. Everyone should try not to get hit by his Whirlwind, or they will suffer the nasty Rend DoT that Whirlwind applies to people when hit by it. Leotheras the Blind will Whirlwind for around 15 seconds.
When he stops doing his Whirlwind, his aggro table will reset, so every range DPS should be aware and STOP DPS 5 seconds or so before Whirlwind stops. Healers should also be careful on pulling healing aggro when the Whirlwind stops, or Leotheras the Blind will instantly go to them after he stops his Whirlwind, basically causing a healer casualty. As soon as Leotheras the Blind stops Whirlwinding, the main tank needs to grab him immediately and resume tanking. Once aggro has been established, everyone can resume DPS on Leotheras and watch their aggro until the next Whirlwind where melee should be running away from Leotheras the Blind again.
To help in keeping Leotheras the Blind in the center after stopping Whirlwind, every shaman should drop Searing totems in the center. When Leotheras the Blind stops Whirlwind, the initial aggro will come from the Searing Totem, making Leotheras attack the totem and therefore keeping him in the center where the main tank can easily grab him. Misdirection can also help to keep Leotheras the Blind on to the tank every after Whirlwinds. Leotheras the Blind's Whirlwind cooldown is roughly 15 seconds.
Melee DPS should take note of this and move out when its almost time for Leotheras the Blind to do a Whirlwind. After around 45 seconds have passed, whether or not Leotheras the Blind is doing Whirlwind, he will stop on his tracks and transform into its demon counterpart. Everyone should STOP DPS at this point.
Phase 2 - Demon Phase
When he transforms into demon form, phase 2 starts. The whole phase lasts for 60 seconds, then Leotheras will return into blood elf form and start phase 1 again. At the start of the phase, his aggro table will reset once again. Before he actually transforms into demon form and changes phase, the warlock tank should be starting to spam Searing Pain, so that as soon as he actually transforms and resets aggro, the warlock tank will definitely get Leotheras' aggro as long as the rest of the DPS stops what they are doing until the aggro has been established.
Once the aggro is established on the warlock tank, everyone should resume DPS, making sure they don't pull aggro off the warlock. Also, stay away from 5 yards around the warlock tank to avoid getting hit by Leotheras' Chaos Blasts. Around 25 seconds into the Demon Phase, Leotheras the Blind will apply Insidious Whisper on up to 5 random raid members. As soon as they get Insidious Whisper, their Inner Demon will appear and they should kill their own Inner Demon as fast as they can within the 30 second timeframe. If they fail to kill their Inner Demon within 30 seconds, they will get Mind Controlled for 10 minutes, and the only way to remove the mind control is to kill them.
When it’s around 15 seconds left before Leotheras returns to blood elf form, the warlock tank should drop a Curse of Doom on Leotheras to ensure his aggro on the next Demon Phase. If it resists, have him inform the raid so a spare hunter can Misdirect Leotheras to him on the next Demon Phase, and everyone can know that they need to lay low on DPS at first on the next Demon phase. After 60 seconds have passed since start of phase 2, Leotheras the Blind will return to blood elf form and begin phase 1 again. At this point, everyone should STOP DPS since Leotheras' aggro table is cleared again.
These 2 phases will alternate until Leotheras the Blind's health drops to 15%. When it does, the final phase will start where both blood elf and demon forms are existent.
Phase 3 - Split Phase
Regardless of the current phase, as long as Leotheras the Blind's health drops to 15%, he will split into two. At this point, both of his forms are out, which means you will now have to face both forms simultaneously. Although Leotheras the Blind's Demon form is out, he will not use Insidious Whisper anymore. When he is about to split, he will emote several lines of dialogue. This will give you time to heal up, and spread out once more to avoid Whirlwinds. DPS classes should stop DPS at this point and let Leotheras the Blind split.
This is another aggro wipe, so tanks need to grab their targets first and establish aggro before DPS may resume. The warlock tank can safely gain aggro on the Demon form, while the main tank will most likely need a Misdirect from the blood elf form to establish enough aggro quickly. When the main tank has enough aggro on the blood elf form, DPS can resume on him and proceed to burn him down as fast as you can without pulling aggro. Think of it as another phase 1, with his Demon form in the middle.
Since it’s like phase 1, STAY CALM AND AVOID WHIRLWINDS and DON'T AGGRO EVERYTIME WHIRLWIND STOPS. Although you need to burn Leotheras the Blind down at this point, being reckless can lead to wiping so calm down and continue DPS just like its phase 1, only harder this time. When Leotheras whirlwinds, run away from him still, but STAY AWAY FROM THE WARLOCK TANK or you'll get hit by the Chaos Blasts. When aggro is on the main tank again, resume DPS immediately but don't pull aggro.
Burn Leotheras' blood elf form quickly and ignore the Demon form. Let the warlock tank and his healer mind their own business with the Demon form and just focus on the blood elf form until its dead. When the blood elf form of Leotheras the Blind dies, the demon form will disappear and the fight will be over.
Defeating Your Own Inner Demon
DPS classes can easily kill their Inner Demon within the time limit. However, certain class specs can expect to have a hard time on killing their own Inner Demon within the required time. Here are some notes for dealing with your own Inner Demon depending on the class. Remember that Inner Demons take additional damage from Arcane, Nature and Holy spells, but take reduced damage from Shadow and Fire spells. Also, be careful about using pets / summons. If your pet / summon gets the last hit on the Inner Demon, you will not get the credit for the kill and you will still be mind controlled.
Druid (Restoration) - As soon as your Inner Demon appears, throw down a Moonfire on it, then proceed to pop Barkskin. Afterwards, spam Wrath until Barkskin wears off. Spam Moonfire at this point until its dead, but this will most likely kill your mana. If you can risk it, cast Moonfire once as soon as Barkskin wears off to refresh its DoT, then keep trying to cast Wrath even though it has spell knockback. Then just finish it off with a few Moonfire spam, or if you can sacrifice Nature's Swiftness, do it with Wrath for your final blow. Alternatively, you can ask for a nearby priest without an Inner Demon to throw you a Power Word: Shield after your Barkskin has worn off. This will enable you to cast some more Wraths without spell knockback. If you think you have enough time, and no one is healing you, throw yourself a Lifebloom / Rejuvenation then resume killing your Inner Demon.
Druid (Feral / Balance) - These class specs most probably won't have any problems on killing their own Inner Demon. Take note however, for the Balance specced druid, to avoid using Force of Nature.
Hunter (Any spec) - Turn on your pet's Growl and let it attack the demon. Move away and DPS it normally. When it’s about to die (around 30% health or so), let your pet "stay", and reset it on Passive to stop it from attacking the Inner Demon further. While your pet still has aggro on the Inner Demon, finish it off with your own shots. Just make sure your pet stops attacking when the Inner Demon is about to die so it won't get the last hit.
Mage (Any spec) - Take note that it has increased damage taken from Arcane spells, so just use Arcane Blast / Arcane Missiles to kill your Inner Demon.
Paladin (Holy) - As soon as your Inner Demon appears, activate Avenging Wrath and Seal of Righteousness. Use your Consecration, Exorcism and Holy Shock abilities, and judge the Inner Demon accordingly. Keep hitting the demon with Seal of Righteousness active. When it’s down to 20% health, use your Hammer of Wrath until its dead.
Paladin (Retribution / Protection) - Should be easier for these class specs to kill their own Inner Demon. Just unload your offensive spells on it and your Inner Demon will die in a short while.
Priest (Holy / Discipline) - As soon as your Inner Demon appears, throw down a Shadow Word: Pain on it, then proceed to cast Power Word: Shield on yourself. Afterwards, spam Smite till it dies. You can also use Shadow Word: Death on it, but make sure someone is keeping you topped off or you might kill yourself with it. You can also use Psychic Scream when your shield is down so you won't get interrupted when casting Smite, but be careful of your Inner Demon going out of range. Avoid using your Shadowfiend or it may take the last hit on the Inner Demon.
Priest (Shadow) - Your Inner Demon has decreased damage taken from Shadow spells, so take note of it. It might be wiser for you to drop Shadowform and just do what the other priest specs do, spam Smite till it dies. Avoid using your Shadowfiend or it might get the last hit on the Inner Demon.
Rogue (Combat) - Just pop your Blade Flurry and continue DPS on Leotheras the Blind himself. Your Inner Demon will be affected by your attacks as well due to your Blade Flurry being active. If Blade Flurry fades and your demon is still alive, just switch to your demon and finish it off, then resume DPS on Leotheras the Blind.
Rogue (Assassination / Subtlety) - Since you probably don't have Blade Flurry, just target your Inner Demon and kill it as fast as possible. Resume DPS on Leotheras the Blind once it’s dead.
Shaman (Elemental / Restoration) - As soon as your Inner Demon appears, use Lightning Shield and keep it up until its dead. Proceed to spamming Lightning Bolts and Chain Lightnings, while occasionally Earth Shocking the Inner Demon's Shadow Bolts when it starts to cast them. Avoid using Elemental Totems.
Shaman (Enhancement) - Your Inner Demon should be easy to kill. Just keep Lightning Shield up for additional damage. Avoid using your Elemental Totems.
Warlock (Any spec) - Take note that the Inner Demon has decreased damage taken from Shadow and Fire spells. To alleviate this, throw down a Curse of Shadows on it, then proceed on unloading your offensive spells on it. Remember to set your pet to Passive when the Inner Demon is about to die, and kill it yourself.
Warrior (Protection) - As soon as phase 2 starts, and the warlock tank has enough aggro, switch to Battle Stance and start hitting Leotheras the Blind. Make sure to accumulate 100 rage before Leotheras the Blind casts Insidious Whisper, and eventually getting an Inner Demon. If you actually did get an Inner Demon, spam Devastate and Shield Slam every time it’s up. Use Heroic Strike cautiously and monitor your rage. When your Inner Demon starts to cast Shadow Bolt, make sure to Spell Reflect it to deal decent damage to the Inner Demon. Continue spamming those skills and Spell Reflecting every Shadow Bolt until its dead. If you are still having a hard time killing your Inner Demon, wearing some DPS gear might help, but might affect your tanking on Leotheras the Blind (if you are the main tank). If you can sacrifice a shaman Bloodlust / Heroism, tell them to use it if you get an Inner Demon to help you with killing it.
Warrior (Arms / Fury) - Your Inner Demon should be easy to kill. Accumulating rage beforehand can help too.
Main Tank Notes
You are in charge of tanking Leotheras the Blind's Blood Elf Form (Phase 1 and Phase 3). During these phase, you should be aware of the aggro wipes that happen, specifically the start of the phase, and every end of his Whirlwind. During these times, you should be grabbing Leotheras the Blind immediately and proceed to gain aggro quickly, so that DPS can resume DPS as soon as possible. For the Whirlwinds, you should be staying near the center most of the time, so you can easily grab him, but you can try to follow Leotheras around, although sometimes he tends to wander too far away and getting him can be a problem.
You can go and follow him, but you can go out of range from the healers, which can be very dangerous for you. The best way to deal with this is to have your hunters have Misdirect rotations so that in case Leotheras the Blind wanders too far away, he will definitely go back to you. Shamans should also be dropping Searing Totems at the middle to catch Leotheras the Blind at the end of his Whirlwind and bring him back to the center, where you are waiting for him. Just keep him in the center and try to make sure your snap-aggro ability (Shield Slam for Warriors, Mangle for Druids, Avenger's Shield for Paladins) cooldown is up for when you need to grab him after he does his Whirlwind.
Warlock Tank Notes
Before starting the fight, summon your Felhound out so you can receive more fire resistance from it. Have it marked with a raid icon so that healers know where it is. Also, soulstone yourself if ever you die due to Chaos Blast debuff stacked too high. Inform other warlocks to save their soulstones for you. As soon as the fight starts, proceed to position your Felhound to a safe corner within healers' reach and make it 'stay' there. DPS normally when it is phase 1.
When it’s around a couple of seconds left before phase 2, start chain-casting Searing Pain. If Leotheras the Blind is performing Whirlwind, don't risk it and just stay away from him. When he transforms into Demon form, start spamming Searing Pain on him to gain aggro. You can insert your other DoT spells in between casting to provide additional damage and aggro as well. When you are comfortable with your aggro level, and you're starting to get hit pretty much, you can cast Drain Life every once in a while to help heal yourself.
Continue maintaining aggro on him until he is about to return to his blood elf form. Casting Curse of Doom for snap-aggro on the next Demon phase is a great help, so try to time your Curse of Doom cast on him such that when the next Demon Phase comes, the Curse of Doom ticks and you will get instant aggro on him immediately. Phase 1 lasts for around 45 seconds, so timing for the Curse of Doom cast, you should be casting it around 15 seconds left before he returns to phase 1.
If ever he resists your Curse of Doom casting, announce it in raid chat so everyone may know and they can lay back on DPS at the beginning of the next Demon phase. Also, this way a spare hunter Misdirect can be used for you on the next Demon phase. Otherwise, just manually grab his aggro through Searing Pain spamming. If ever you die while tanking, use your soulstone to resurrect, quickly resummon your pet and place it again on that safe corner.
Try to get Leotheras' aggro again and ask for another soulstone from any other warlock so you can still resurrect the next time you die again while tanking. When only your pet dies, just resummon it during phase 1. Just make sure your pet is alive all the time while you are tanking to soak some damage from the Chaos Blasts.
Healer Notes
Every group should have at least 1 healer (2 at most) except for the melee group. Since these groups with healers are well spread out, they should be healing their own group, and helping on the melee group as well if they got hit by Whirlwind. Around 3-4 healers should be prioritizing the main tank to heal while in phase 1. The rest should focus on healing their own group or the melee within your range.
When it’s phase 2, 2 healers should be enough to handle healing on the warlock tank, and one other healer to monitor his pet and heal it when necessary. A few HoTs can be enough to heal the warlock tank's pet. When it’s time for Inner Demons, healers other than the warlock tank healers should be healing those with Inner Demons. If in case the warlock tank's healers get Inner Demon, other healers should step in and heal the warlock tank in their place. The rest should still focus on healing players with Inner Demons, especially those healers with Inner Demons since they are trying to kill their own demon within the 30 second time limit and won't be able to heal themselves leisurely.
Since 4 groups have at most 2 healers in them, they should be taking care of the players with Inner Demon in their group, especially if the other healer in the same group gets Inner Demon. If both healers on that group get Inner Demon, healers from other groups should move in and help on healing. Phase 2 is just basically healing all those people with Inner Demon while keeping up the warlock tank and his felhound pet.
Transitions
Almost every ability / phase in Leotheras the Blind's fight has a definite aggro wipe. In Phase 1 and 3, an aggro wipe happens every end of Whirlwind. Also, at every start of each phase, including the last phase where he splits, aggro is also cleared. Everyone must be aware of this so they don't pull aggro on these occasions. DPS should completely stop attacking and wait for the tank to pick the boss up before resuming DPS.
If they have DoT abilities, stop refreshing them a few seconds before the aggro reset. Healers should also lay low on healing and just do small heals for the moment or they might pull healing aggro if they insist on doing big heals straight away. Of course, the tank should immediately grab Leotheras the Blind and quickly establish enough aggro to prevent unnecessary aggro pulling causing player deaths, or even a wipe. Hunter misdirections on the tank always helps for smooth phase transitions or even after every Whirlwind.
